Henrik Clausen, CEO at Davidsens Tømmerhandel

”With strong annual accounts for 2018 where we in Davidsens Tømmerhandel have increased earnings and equity, we now speed up investments to strengthen our presence in the important commercial market and to lead to the development of new, digital tools for the tradesmen. Digitalisation is an important area in the construction industry and there is no doubt that digital technology for many will be crucial for the competitive performance in the future. With this new B2B webshop, we will be able to help and support our trade customers with this, e.g. in the form of easier ordering of goods, administration and project management”

High e-commerce ambitions

In Davidsens Tømmerhandel, the ambition for the new B2B overall solution is apparent. Davidsens Tømmerhandel sees e-commerce as a business critical and a quite central element in its overall strategy and the objective of the new B2B webshop is therefore very clear. The ambitious merchandising-sector company is determined to get the market’s best solution within timber merchant and DIY centres.

Bizzkit – the market’s most complete e-commerce platform

One of the three leading and most widely used e-commerce platforms in Denmark, Bizzkit, which has been developed by Hesehus through more than 16 years, will create a basis for Davidsens Tømmerhandel’s new B2B webshop. The platform, which was launched in Sweden in 2018 via Hesehus’s international partner channel, is like other e-commerce platforms geared to e-business but has the advantage that the platform also contains DAM, PIM and CMS.

To Davidsens Tømmerhandel this means one overall solution with extra flexibility since the standard foundation is not locked or restricted and as a result can be adjusted to match Davidsens Tømmerhandel's specific requests for functions and features in the new B2B overall solution.

With the new B2B webshop, Davidsens Tømmerhandel is heading in the same direction as successful B2B e-sellers such as Nissens, which trades for more than DKK 500 million in online sales, and Fristads Kansas Group, which handles 400 webshops with more than 500,000 users and more than 10 million sold items on the Bizzkit platform.
