The story of Hesehus
Since Hesehus opened its doors for the first time on 1 May 2002, we have focused 100% on doing what we do best, which is creating the e-commerce winners of the future. Today we count 110 hesehusians on the harbour of Odense, who are continuously striving to make a difference for our customers and their businesses.
At the E-commerce Award 2020, Matas together with Hesehus wins 2 x gold and the prestigious Gold Award. In addition, for the second year in a row, Hesehus receives a top position in ‘Management and work culture’ in Ingeniørens IT Company Rank analysis and for the fourth time a top position in the category ‘Good at delivering results for customers’ in the reputable MyImage analysis. The strategic goal of doubling the revenue from 2016 to 2020 is achieved as a result of great adaptability and an impressive effort from Hesehus' employees during the corona crisis.
After a revenue growth of 25%, the number of employees increases to 125. 2019 is also the year Hesehus is named Børsen Gazelle for the fourth time in the company’s history, and the year Hesehus is placed as no. 1 in “Management and work culture” among 60 selected IT-companies in Ingeniørens big IT Company Rank analysis.
In 2018 Hesehus reaches 100 employees and presents the third highest profit in the company's history. This is also the year Hesehus takes an important step in its long-range internationalization process and launches the e-commerce platform Bizzkit abroad with Sweden as the first market.
”Hesehus has had tremendous progress in 2017”. That is how the media describe Hesehus’ situation after a very good financial statement with a 25% increase in turnover and a bottom line, which makes 2017 the second-best year in Hesehus’ history. Among other things, this is due to an increased intake in customers like BabySam and Micro Matic. At the E-commerce Award 2017, Inspiration wins gold in the category “Best digital campaign” for their digital catalogue, which was created in a close partnership between Nørgård Mikkelsen and Hesehus.
After a 19% revenue growth, the number of employees increases to 85. Hesehus is for the second time named one of Denmark’s best workplaces by Great Place to Work® and for the third time named as best at delivering results for customers in the esteemed image analysis MyImage.
2011 - 2015
2011 becomes the year Hesehus gets the Danish Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Relay Race of Knowledge’ award, which goes to Denmark’s most promising knowledge company. Also, the record profit from 2010 almost doubles to DKK 5.7 million in 2011. In 2012 Hesehus acquire the third Børsen Gazelle, and the number of employees rises to 55. This is increased to 75 in 2013 after achieving the largest profit of DKK 10.8 million. 2013 is also the year Hesehus wins the E-Commerce Award together with Matas. In 2014 Hesehus launches the e-commerce platform Hesehus 6 and is also named one of Denmark's best workplaces by Great Place to Work®. 2015 is topped with both gold, silver, and bronze at the E-Commerce Award for solutions developed by Hesehus for Inspiration, Wupti, and Matas respectively.
2006 - 2010
The third million profit in succession becomes a reality in 2006, and 3C Venture becomes co-owner. After 51% growth in 2007, the profit sets new records, Hesehus is appointed Gazelle company by the Danish newspaper Børsen, and the number of employees rises to 34. In 2008 Hesehus’ second election as Børsen Gazelle follows, and Hesehus enters into the first large global contract with ASSA ABLOY. After a 50% revenue growth, the number of employees increases to a total of 40 by the end of 2009, and in 2010 Hesehus achieves the highest profit in the company's history of DKK 3 million.
2002 - 2005
On 1 May 2002, Hesehus opens the doors under the name Hedal Kruse Brohus with seven employees on the staff. In 2003 the software product hesehus:catalogue is introduced, which combines sophisticated e-commerce and automatic catalogue production in one software solution for the first time. A tremendous year in 2004 results in a sales growth of 60%, a record profit of DKK 1 million, and an increase from 8 to 15 employees. The result is doubled to DKK 2 million in 2005, after a sales growth of 40% and a large customer intake.
