DLG wins gold at Danish Digital Award 2018

DLG, one of Europe’s largest farm supply companies, went straight to the top in the category ‘Mobile’ at this year’s DDA. Hesehus is one of the agencies behind its successful customer portal.

Last night, the competition for the prestigious Danish Digital Awards 2018 took place at this year’s digital award celebration in TAP1 in Copenhagen.

Danish Digital Award celebrates the most inspiring, efficient and well performed digital work that develops and supports companies’ business activities and in the category ‘Mobile’, DLG was the winner with its successful app. Behind the app is Shape which is the main agency as well as the agencies Alpha Solutions, Frontlab and Hesehus. Hesehus has taken part in DLG’s digital journey since last year and is a business partner on the development of the customer portal.

DLG’s app provides farmers in all of Denmark with direct access to DLG’s customer portal via mobile or tablet from where they can easily and simply order products. An opportunity which the farmers have definitely taken to heart as it is a huge help in their daily life and it makes the way they run a business more efficient.

DLG’s increased focus on digitalisation in recent years can also be seen in the online turnover where the turnover of DLG's e-commerce platform last year increased by 30% and thus reached DKK 1 billion in 2017.

DLG wins gold at the Danish Digital Award 2018

The jury explained the reason behind selecting DLG as the winner

“The case is a textbook example of the value which digitalisation can result in – even in an industry which is as old as farming. The results are obvious in relation to efficiency improvement of purchasing processes, constant revenue increase as well as in an increasing number of users. The jury is also impressed that it has been possible to create this much value in use when, after all, it was Denmark's largest industry that needed to be thawed and digitalised. We also carefully guess that some important battles have been fought in the periphery which is now something to be very proud of reaping the benefits of. Congratulations on the gold!”

Finalist for the E-Commerce Prize 2018

It is not only the jury behind Danish Digital Award that has caught sight of DLG’s strong B2B e-commerce approach since the jury behind this year’s E-Commerce Prize 2018 has also selected DLG in the Top 5 in the category 'Best B2B company’. A category which also includes the Danish companies Danfoss, Velux, Hørkram and Brødrene Dahl. For the ninth year in succession, Hesehus has customers that qualify for the finals for the E-Commerce Prize where customers such as Matas, Inspiration and Lemvigh-Müller have previously gone all the way and won the gold.

The winner of the category ‘Best B2B company’ will be the B2B company that brilliantly sells products and/or services through digital channels. In the assessment of the five finalists, the jury is emphasising great business talent, the company’s talent for innovation and growth and not least the shopping experience across screens and the service which the company offers to its customers.

The suspense is released on 24 May when FDIH hosts the E-Commerce Prize 2018 event in the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center.
