 IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding's webshop is intuitive and user-friendly for the students to find their way around

The course department of IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding was in urgent need of a new webshop. The reason was a political demerger from the International Business College (IBC) that divided the educational institutions into two separate institutions.

From the announcement of its independence, IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding had 1½ month to invite tenders and have a new webshop designed, developed and implemented. A webshop that was first of all to set the framework for the new course department in IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding. However, the webshop was not merely intended to be a quick fix solution as the site had to be a strong fundament for a future and comprehensive enhancement of IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding in future years. IBA chose Hesehus as its e-commerce solution provider.

Responsive design

As the extent to which the use of tablets and smartphones when shopping online is only increasing Hesehus chose to develop IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding’s new webshop in a responsive design. The idea behind responsive design is to obtain the most flexibility in the design allowing the design to adjust to the different platforms from which IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding’s course participants can access the site. By developing the new site in a responsive design, Hesehus can ensure IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding a future-proof site and IBA can now offer its course participants the optimal customer service as well as a professional display of the new site and not least the courses.

Simple, intuitive, and user-friendly

IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding takes over all further training activities at an advanced level and with such a large offer of education and courses, it is essential for IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding that the webshop is intuitive and user-friendly for the course participants to navigate. To give the course participants an overview, Hesehus has integrated a mega menu to fold out under each menu item. In this way, the course participants get a quick and simple overview of all the education/courses that the course department of IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding offers, e.g. under 'Bachelor of Commerce & Academy’ without having to click onto the page first.

Under the individual education/course a lot has been done to create a simple and intuitive page for the course participant, e.g. a list of the various courses under the education in question, relevant contact persons to ask for advice or information about the number of earned ECTS points. The webshop also includes a very clear enrolment function which in spite of its size also functions optimally on tablets and smartphones as it has been made responsive like the rest of the site.
