Case: Damixa
Strategic E-commerce for Export
Damixa has turned on e-commerce as part of their digital transformation. They’re entering the European export market through e-commerce, enabling better service and growth opportunities.
E-commerce That Makes Bathrooms Shine
Damixa is a Danish design company that creates faucets and shower systems. They’re present in more than 10 European markets, delivering stylish solutions, perhaps even for your bathroom? The faucet and shower system industry is quite conservative and traditionally B2B-focused, where close contact between buyer and seller has been essential. However, the industry is pushing for more digitalization, and Damixa has served its customers a hot cup of e-commerce.
Faucets for Both B2C and B2B
Ultimately, Damixa targets individual consumers looking to renovate their kitchens or bathrooms, but they don’t sell directly to end customers. All sales go through vendors and dealers. The webshop is therefore designed to support both needs. Consumers can explore inspirational content and find their nearest dealer. Dealers can easily stock up and locate what their customers are looking for, so they have it ready in their showrooms when the end customers arrive. Orders can also be delivered directly to a project—precisely when it fits the schedule.
Sales Reps Aren’t Left Behind
When implementing e-commerce in a B2B organization, sales reps can often be somewhat hesitant about the new solution, fearing it will replace them. This was never an issue at Damixa. Sales reps were involved from the very beginning. The e-commerce solution was always intended as a tool in their toolbox. They provided input and requested specific features, such as the ability to switch between net and gross prices on the site. They got what they asked for, resulting in high satisfaction and widespread use of the solution.
Not Just One Solution
Damixa sells to more than ten different markets, each with its own industry nuances. The shop is therefore not a one-size-fits-all but can be tailored to each market. Features currently in demand in the Netherlands may not be relevant for other European markets. The shop is also prepared for integration with external ERP systems, allowing customers to purchase directly through the procurement systems they’re used to.
Data, data, data
Like other industries tied to construction, the faucet industry is facing increasing documentation requirements. Contractors are requesting climate data, EPDs, drinking water approvals, and other documents. Damixa must be able to provide these - or risk being excluded. Fortunately, e-commerce makes it much easier for Damixa to quickly and efficiently deliver the data customers need. A key part of the project was creating a unified data model and expanding Damixa’s PIM system. The PIM has replaced several other systems and is now the single source of truth where Damixa consolidates its data and documentation, ensuring partners get exactly what they need - instantly.
20 Years in the Making
Damixa has been a Hesehus client since the early 2000s but only launched e-commerce in 2025. Together, we’ve gradually transformed Damixa - starting with digital catalogs and inspirational content for their sites, followed by a spare parts portal and an app for installers. Despite the long partnership, Hesehus wasn’t automatically chosen to execute the e-commerce ambitions. Damixa sought proposals from several digital agencies before ultimately choosing Hesehus to bring their digital dreams to life. The reason: We delivered the strongest solutions.
A Closer Collaboration Than Most
A unique development approach helped the project reach launch day quickly. Rasmus from Damixa physically sat at our offices with the development team one day a week. This made ironing out the small details seamless - just a matter of turning to the person next to you. It ensured the project was always moving efficiently toward the next release and allowed for quick resolution of any uncertainties.
”It’s been great to be part of the development team at Hesehus. We had close collaboration on the small things and technical solutions, which could be answered quickly. It really created momentum that was very useful.”
Rasmus Thomsen, E-commerce Manager at Damixa.
More Features Flowing In
After the first webshop release for the Dutch market, requests for more features quickly followed. B2B users needed stronger project management tools, such as the ability to schedule deliveries for specific days. After all, there’s no reason to have faucets sitting on a pallet at a construction site a month before installation. It also makes track-and-trace easier, allowing close monitoring of projects. Overall, the shop is built to easily accommodate new additions - more features, more markets, and more happy customers.
