BabySam selects Hesehus as e-commerce partner

The undisputed largest player in the Danish market for baby and children’s kit, BabySam, has selected Hesehus as strategic e-commerce partner for a new overall solution after a bidding round among Denmark’s leading e-commerce houses.

BabySam selects Hesehus as e-commerce partner

Ready, set, baby

The national retail chain, BabySam, has more than 40 years of experience in the industry and with its 30 retail shops, sale for institutions and online sales, it is difficult to disregard when it comes to the sale of baby and children's kit.

The chain, which trades for more than DKK 450 million a year, has ambitious online objectives and the e-commerce house Hesehus will now help reaching these.

Managing Director in BabySam, Kenneth Nørgaard

“Today, e-commerce is one of the key elements in our omni channel strategy and an important part of our business. It is obvious that the service which we have built around our products in e-commerce is what the customers demand, so naturally this is what we wish to strengthen and develop further"

Geared for the e-commerce of the future

With goal-oriented investments in recent years, BabySam has worked hard to create Denmark’s strongest platform for its customers with a unique presence across the physical shops, the web shop and the social media and is today a true omnichannel retail chain.

The chain’s persistent focus on e-commerce, SoMe activities and a strong shop concept has been a success with the customers and BabySam now wants to strengthen its omnichannel activities further, among other things, with the development of a new webshop.

In 2016, e-commerce represented 8% of BabySam’s total turnover and based on the chain’s ambitious objectives for 2020 where 20% of BabySam’s total turnover has to come from the chain’s online channels, there is no doubt that the chain is keeping its main focus on e-commerce.

BabySam

Total solution on leading e-commerce platform

BabySam’s new webshop is developed and implemented on the software platform Bizzkit which is among the three leading and most widely used e-commerce platforms in Denmark. Like other e-commerce platforms, Bizzkit is geared to e-business but with the advantage that the platform – unlike many other platforms in the market – also contains DAM, PIM and CMS.

For BabySam, this means one total solution which is extra flexible since the standard foundation is not locked or restricted and as a result can be adjusted to BabySam’s requirements for functions and features which are essential to its business.

BabySam follows suit with other Danish omnichannel front-runners such as Matas, Stof & Stil and Inspiration which successfully have based their online solutions on the Bizzkit-platform with top positions in the competition for the E-Commerce Award as a result.

Managing Director in Hesehus, Lars Hedal

“We are very pleased to welcome BabySam after a bidding round in a strong field where our experience gained from other omni channel chains and the results we have helped achieve for customers such as Inspiration that won the E-Commerce Prize in 2017 became an advantage for us. We are now looking forward to getting started and we have set up an ambitious team of digital designers, developers and architects that will focus on creating a state-of-the-art webshop for BabySam"
